Workshops Overview

Staff development workshops for implementing DTT in classroom or therapeutic settings are designed around needs assessments for individual program sites. Experienced DTT instructors work with program administrators and direct service providers to identify topics, plan a training schedule, conduct workshops and mentor in classrooms with observations and debriefings. The focus is to enhance classroom skills of teachers and teaching assistants.

Typically, an initial workshop onsite offers an overview of DTT and what it can provide to enhance an educational and therapeutic program. This may be followed with enrollment of the participants in the basic online course, Developmental Teaching for Students With Special Needs. The course has open enrollment and allows up to one year for completion. During that year, certified DTT instructors can provide additional onsite workshops and classroom observations with feedback to assist program staff in successfully implementing DTT into their program.
